Aniston’s Nursery

Designing a space for your new little one has to be one of the most fun jobs ever. I’d keep on having kids just to name them and decorate their rooms (I’m kidding….kind of). Before I even knew the gender, I knew I wanted this room to be the happiest spot in the whole house. I wanted a place where I could sit and imagine our baby before he/she was even born. A place where I could retreat to on the long sleepless nights. The fact that we were pregnant with a girl was just the icing on the cake. That meant I got to incorporate the colors and knick knacks that I favor. Her room really is an accumulation of all of my favorite things. I am so excited to share it with all of you! My good friend and photographer Ashley did a great job of capturing the way it really feels to be in Aniston’s room. The bright sunshine, the pastel colors, and all the little details. I will cherish these photos forever. Opening up Aniston’s room to all of you is like opening up a piece of my heart. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do!!

I had a lot of fun with Aniston’s room, and so many of the details were projects that I did myself. I tagged as many things as I could, but if you have other questions feel free to leave a comment below and I will try and answer you as best I can!

Kempton’s Room Tour

0001-5320126

On August 1st we will have officially been moved into our new home for one year. When I look back to all of the projects we’ve completed in just that short period of time I am amazed, and exhausted! The project I dreamed about and planned out the most was the kids’ rooms. Although nothing ever seems quite “finished” here is a peek at Mr. Kempton’s nursery. >> I say nursery because when we moved in he was still in a crib. We have since changed it to a toddler bed (at 18 mo. which I was totally not ready for), and once we get his big boy bed some of the decorations will change in his room. But that’s another post for another time. Mostly everything in his room is DIY and I have a tutorial for the wall right here. Anything else is tagged at the end. Enjoy!

So the funny thing about this Squidward stuffed animal is he randomly got it at the store that our aunt Susan works at and he won’t let it leave his sight. It’s kind of an odd thing, but hey the colors match so I’m just going with it 🙂 Also not pictured are his multiple “special” blankies. He carries so many around and has to sleep with all of them (the grey little giraffe blanket is his favorite.) Daddy started this bedtime routine that when we tuck him in we have to count each special blanket as it is laid on top of him. He now insists that we count all the animals in his bed too. He is just too precious, and it is such a special memory I won’t soon forget!

Here are some of the items I’m still wanting to add to his room….

The Friday Five- Autumn Glitz

I’m calling this week’s friday five Autumn Glitz because they are all things to glamorize your comfy cozy! I’m really enjoying putting together these weekly idea boards. Crazy how the things going on in my head actually coordinate!

HOUSE (1)

Number 1 on the list is warm, cozy, over the knee socks. I want to wear them with tall boots, short boots, leggings and skirts. I want to snuggle up by the fire in them. I want to eat popcorn, sip tea and watch a movie in them. I want some from American Apparel, Free People, Urban outfitters and Madewell. Basically this week I want to live in over the knee socks!

2.  Lucky Boy Sunday. I love their kids stuffed animals, the play houses, quilts, and pillows. Some of their art is a little out there, but their muted colors and unique combinations look fantastic in a modern kids room.

3. Anthropologie golden monogram mugs *limited edition. These are a no brainer. Sip your warm coffee out of a blinged out mug!! Only $10

4. I’m obsessed with using gold feathers as decorations right now, and it seems to fit perfectly with the upcoming  Thanksgiving holiday. I’ve been glittering, spray painting, and hanging feathers all over. They can easily transition into Christmas or even stay up all year long.
